Library: BARK - Animals Reading with Kids

  • Northridge Library 9051 Darby Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 91325 (map)

Sit, stay, and read to Charlie, Tedi, and Vida. BARK (Beach Animals Reading with Kids) is an all-volunteer program that encourages children to increase their reading skills and self-confidence by reading aloud to certified therapy dogs. Kids can find it intimidating to read in front of others but love to read to the non-judgmental, calming dogs. Youth of all ages are invited to come and practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a BARK Therapy Dog. Participation is limited by dog team availability.
