Library: LA Made Presents: Temple Dance of South India

Presentation of South Indian classical dances, also called Temple Dances. The program will begin with an introduction to Indian art, a display of Indian dance props (like jewelry, etc.), and a presentation of Temple dances of South India.

Group and solo dances by Soorya dancers in the traditional Bharathanatyam dance style. Bharatanatyam (pronounced bha-ra-tha-naat-yum) is the 2000-year art form that boasts of highly stylized dance movements, facial expressions, intrinsic rhythms & mesmerizing stories based on Hindu epics, highlighting human emotions of love, emotion, and justice.
